As you can probably tell, I enjoy the outdoors. I love hiking, backpacking, sailing, geocaching, sports, and climbing Colorado 14ers (14,000ft peaks). My good friend Jason Miller and I are attempting to climb all 54 14ers. Recently joining us in this endeavor, my son Eric has now got the 14er fever.
I recently picked up a Garmin Etrex Vista after researching GPS receivers for backpacking and climbing. In the process of researching, I came across geocaching. It's like high tech treasure hunting!
Summer 2009, Jason, Eric and I will be joined by Daniel, Jason's son, and Agust, Eric's buddy. We plan to tackle the long, multiday climb of Mount Harvard and Mount Columbia. Check back then and you can see the pics by clicking on the Adventures button.
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you like
sunshine flows into the trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you and the storms their
energy while cares will drop off like autumn leaves." ~ John Muir

"Climbing mountains is hard. You often encounter adversity.
But learning to deal with adversity high on the side of a
mountain can help people in their everyday lives. It teaches
patience, empathy, respect. And gives us great contrast with
our everyday, often non-adventurous lives." -- Peter Whittaker
